How do I check if the backup archive has been extracted properly? Extract it locally and check if all the files are present on host server one by one???

I just repeated the process from scratch (clean install directory and blank database) and this time XCloner managed to complete the automatic restore without any problems (Configuration updated! Database populated...), but I seem to be right back where I was yesterday: site seems to be working fine, except some of the plugins do not seem active (galleries and background slideshow)... And worst of all, login (either as admin or user) still does not work and results in completely blank page... :(((

This is very frustrating and since there are no permission issues, something else must be the problem. Please advise asap.

Rgds,

I would advise first to clean your restore location of all files/directories, and trying the restore on a clean directory and see if it helps; i am guessing you ar running into some permissions restore issues and not all files are properly restored.

Thanks for the awesome plugin :)

I have been trying to clone a WP site for the new client to their domain and I run into a following problem:

- first I test-cloned it to a subdomain on my own server and it went flawlessly

- when I tried to do the same on client's domain, for some reason the database did not extract and was not copied correctly (I have checked the size of .tar file - it is the same, and the database-sql.sql is there all right)

- it may be the problem on the host server though because I was unable to delete the /administrator/backups/ folder to retry (I got the "550 : Permission denied" error)

- all the rest of the files were restored correctly and I could see them in FTP client but since I could not get anyone from the client's hosting company support until tomorrow to fix the 550 error, I decided to try to import the .sql file manually from the control panel

- that went well and the site seems to be working fine, except some of the plugins do not seem active (galleries and background slideshow)

- I tried to login to WP and check them manually but even though the login box at wp-login.php page displays correctly, after inputing the user name and the password all I get is completely blank page!!!

So, even though the site is (mostly) functional I am unable to login and get to the dashboard... :(

Is this login problem result of my manual db restore from database-sql.sql file or there is some other issue?

Regards,
