I uploaded the XCloner.php, Tar.php and backup archive (made from the local Wordpress version of the site) to a remote server and ran the restore script without errors (file restore, database restore). But when all is done I am redirected to wp-admin/install.php no matter what. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

You need to check if your original site files were restored properly, specially the wp-config.php file, is it present on your new location, does it have any content inside?

Hi Ovidiu - thanks for your prompt reply. After long investigations I found 2 things that caused the problem - so let me share it in case someone else has the same problem.

1.STEP in database table 'wpbell_options'
--------------
make sure that the siteurl is correct - xcloner does not seem to update that automatically
2. STEP (in wp-config.php)
--------------
make sure  the data table prefix is correct - it is case sensitive and xcloner did not transfer that correctly
$table_prefix  = 'xyz_';
Maybe these could be fixed in a future upgrade?
Thanks again - and thank you for providing such a useful tool to us all!

XCloner does not update the tables prefix, it should be the same as on the original site. The redirection issue is fixed by adding a specific code inside the wp-config.php , i am guessing when restoring, XCloner was probably not allowed to write to it, which would explain the issue.

Hi Ovidiu - thanks for your reply.

RE: "The redirection issue is fixed by adding a specific code inside the wp-config.php"

Could you let me know what you mean by "adding a specific code inside the wp-config.php" - could you let me know how I can implement that to avoid problems in the future. Thanks again!

Checkout this topic http://codex.wordpre.....ordPress , under "If you have accidentally changed your WordPress site URL", that's the code XCloner is adding after restore to the wp-config.php file
