For some reason when i try to use this it just stops halfway through and tries to go to xcloner/index2,
First time i tried it was the wordpress plugin version which gave me the JSON error, but now i dont get it.
I tried changing the files per response option as i have seen elsewhere in the forum but nothing.
Now it just goes back to the main xcloner page or tries to go to index2.
I have also tried the standalone version (which i think would be better suited to my needs) but it didnt work either.
Il try setting it up with the same setting on my wamp server see if its a case of my hosting but i cant see how as im using the manual backup method

Things that i changed from the defaul was:
Password.
Starting path
Added the administrator/backups folder and chmoded it to writable
And i think they are the only changes i have made
BTW now in the view backup section there is a .tgz file and a tmp file

Same thing happens
I just tried setting the files per request to 30 an it must have changed from AJAX to normal, anyway it did the backup while showing all the files it was backing up and i though it was something in the include file as it was always in there that it stoped, but i excluded that and it still doesnt work.
Its like if something is logging me out of xcloner as it always goes back into the login page
Do you know if its possible that maybe the webhost has put some sort of file size limit or something? As i am using a free host.
Also not sure if you use/know much about wordpress but, is it necesary to backup all of the wordpress files or can you just backup the wp-content folder?

Considering it's a free host, there could be a number of limitations, from cpu usage, to file size limit and so on. Normal hosts do this also, but it always depends on the host. I might be able to help you better if i could access XCloner control panel, so feel free to submit a support ticket if you like.
An essential question i forgot to ask, what php version is your host running? Could you post here a screenshot after your XCloner Config->Info tab, the ajax mode requires php 5.2.3 or later, so if that is not present, the backup will usually fail in ajax mode due to some missing core functions.
Regarding wordpress, the most important part of your site is the database, and then the wp-contents folder as there you usually keep most of the third party plugins, the theme, and then you have as well the wp-config.php file.
Regardeing XCloner, i suggest this:
1. enable back AJAX mode from your XCloner Config->System tab(if you pph version is later than 5.2.3)
2. set the "Enable log" option to Yes
3. set the files to process per request to lets say 20
4. try and generate a new backup
5. when it breaks, check the administrator/backups/xcloner.log and check the last few lines, you should see there the file it's trying to backup
More screenshots will help us understand the break point and what could be causing that.

XCloner has an option of splitting backups to multiple parts if the backup is bigger than a certain size, it only works if Manual Backup is enabled and Refresh Mode is set to AJAX; so check the XCloner Config System tab for the split limit, the default value is 2024 MB, try and make it 5MB and see how it goes
