I'm new to this forum so thanks firstly for any help you can offer.

I've discovered XCloner and think it's a great tool for backing up WordPress Sites. What I would like to know is if it can transfer a Wordpress site from one domain and hosting to a different domain and hosting?

If so, is there anything I need to do at the new domain to make sure it works correctly?

Thanks,

Debra

Hi Debra, welcome to the forum. If you have followed our restore wiki here /wiki/index.php/Restore_Backup and the site is up and running on the new host, there isn't really anything else to check beside the obvious site functionality, if it works ok, then the transfer was a success.

Let me know if you have further questions! Ovidiu

Thank you very much for that information. I will go through it and hopefully all will work OK.

Thanks again,

Debra

I'm not having much luck cloning my WP site. I'm getting an 'Internal Server Error' now when I get to the point of cloning the new site on the server. I think I'm putting in the settings wrong for the new database, etc. Is there any help you can give me for this?

Thank you,

Debra

The internal server error coul be caused by a server limitation, they are usually logged inside the site error log, so try and check that! After filling in the restore details, do you get the 500 error right after submit or during the process? If it's during the process, it could be the restore .htaccess file, so try and delete that then refresh the page! Ovidiu
