trying to clone an entire sit to a subdomain so that i can create the same site in a different language.
we get to "moving done. start the clone process on the remote host. click here to continue" and then a 404 error page appears.
the other option seems to be manual restore but not sure how to
"Launch XCloner.php in your browser and follow the restore screen as specified below"
any help would be appreciated.

Make sure the ftp upload path points to the correct location as indicated by your restore url, otherwise you can follow this restore wiki http://www.xcloner.c…..3_Manually for alternative restore options.
Hope it helps! Ovidiu

ok… thanks for that.
did all that stuff and it still isn't working, which leads me to believe it has to do with the subdomain access.
the path to the XCloner php file is /public_html/subdomain/Xcloner.php. can't seem to access going mysite/subdomain/XCloner.php, or subdomain.mysite/XCloner.php.
any ideas?
thanks in advance.

**added note – now that the subdomain has propogated when you plug in the address, the site comes up with an index of the tar, php, and backup files. clicking on the php file sends you to an internal serve error page.
thanks.

I would advise checking with your hosting support on that error, seems to be an issue from their servr config. Make sure all permissions are left to default and check as well the site error_log to see if you spot any further detailso on that 500 error
