Internal Server Error

I have tried multiple times to install the newest version of Xcloner to my Joomla site, and it keeps giving me an error when I click on the xcloner component to start the backup utility. I have uninstalled it, and reinstalled it several times. I have uninstalled it and gone into the files to be sure that it has been completely removed under administrator/components/  and checked under /components. Every time I try to start the Xcloner, I get the following error:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or
misconfiguration and was unable to complete
your request.

Please contact the server administrator,
[email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred,
and anything you might have done that may have
caused the error.

More information about this error may be available
in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found
error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I am running Joomla 1.5.21

Apache version 2.2.15
PHP version 5.2.13

Hi there! Usually what happens it that the administrator/components folder has incorrect permissions, so try setting them up to 755 and see if it helps

The permissions on the administrator/components folder are already set to 755. This is not the problem. Any other ideas?

Please check your server error log, all 500 errors are detailed there, make sure also that the administrator/components/com_xcloner-backupandrestore folder has also 755 permissions and all the files inside it have 644

Since you are the server administrator, you should be able to have access to the site error log, or the apache error_log file, what is the full error message you get there?

I checked all permissions as listed above, and all were set correctly. Here are the error codes from the server error log:

[Tue Oct 26 13:43:06 2010] [error] [client 209.60.65.146] File does not exist: /home/ackcsco/public_html/shop/500.shtml, referer: http://shop.ackcsc.org/administrator/index.php?option=com_xcloner-backupandrestore

Tue Oct 26 13:43:06 2010] [error] [client 209.60.65.146] SoftException in Application.cpp:601: Directory "/home/ackcsco/public_html/shop/administrator/components" is writeable by group, referer: http://shop.ackcsc.org/administrator/index.php?option=com_xcloner-backupandrestore

Note:

I do have other websites on this same server that are working perfectly with the backup / restore software.8

So that error "Directory "/home/ackcsco/public_html/shop/administrator/components" is writeable by group" indicates the permissions on that folder are still incorrect, you need to make that folder unwriteable to the group, recheck them again and it should help

There is nothing in the error_log, last entry is from 23-Jul-10.

The error comes up when I click on Components->.XCloner-Backup and Restore after installing the package.

The issue was 777 chmod perms. Fixed this and all is now working.
