Setting up Cron Job with Dreamhost and Joomla | Joomla Support | Forum Archive

Hi

I think I am quite computer literate but I cannot get my head round cron jobs and how to set them up.

I have xcloner installed on my website and can run an xcloner backup manually, not a problem.
What I need is for it to be done automatically.
How do I do this?

In Joomla, XCloner has a page, Cron, where there is a window to add the command but I don't think the command should be here.
On my server, run by Dreamhost, I have a cron job setup with the following command:-
/usr/bin/php /home/username/domain/administrator/components/com_xcloner-backupandrestore/cloner.cron.php
(the username and domain are correct to the website i am working on)

What am I missing?
