I have the last version 3.1.1 and the following error message ...

Have you tried clicking the Retry link and see if it helps. A few things you need to check:
1. how much disk space is there available
2. decrease the Files to Process per request option to 25 in the XCloner Config->System tab
3. try and exclude any large files you might have on the site

I have about 12 Go available on the server.
First I have decreased the Files to Process # option to 20 (it does not accept 25) and I got the same error.
Then I have excluded from backup a directory containing video clips (files bigger than 5 Go) and all is OK.
Why is it not possible to backup big files ?

It is possible to backup files of any size, it all depends on your hosting server limits!

I get the same message, so I changed the 'XCloner Config System Configuration' as suggested. I also have more than sufficient disk space. Same message. So my question is: How do I detect the server limits and how do I deal with them using Xcloner?
Backup file size: 8 GB, available: 18 GB

Can you post here a screenshot after your backup error screen to see where it stops? Ovidiu

I have the same problem. I decrease the Files to Process per request option to 25 and I hacve no big files!
here's the error message:

Try and decrease the Files to process per session option to 20 or lower inside the XCloner Config->System tab and see if it helps. Additionally, have you tried clicking the Retry button?

I tried it with 10 which is the minimum and it did not work ... the retry-button did not work eiter!

Could you post again the latest error message to see if the script times out at the same step number? otherwise, it might be a general hosting timeout probably due to the server limitations on shared accounts...
