very exciting
we're on the last step

the automatic restore page:

here are my settings:

checked these 3 boxes:
import mysql, install files through ftp,
preserve structure permissions

Install directory:
/home/.server/www/url.com

install URL:
https://url.com

mysql server:
dbname.url.com (our new empty db)

user: (new db username)
username

pw:
xxx

db:
dbname (this is our new empty db name)

select the backup:
latestbackup.zip

ftp server:
url.com

ftp user:
ftp username

pw:
xxx

ftp path:

this last one...I am trying different things...
I tried the full path...which didn't work...

this ftp path:
/www/url.com

uploads the complete archive_tmp folder
EXCELLENT
but doesn't load the db or configure the configuration.php file

this ftp path:
/url.com

uploads only the "administrator" folder,
and COPYRIGHT.php and Joomla.Cloner.php
and LICENSE.php

and then stops (I've tried it 3 or 4 times now)
always stops in the same place.

this ftp path:
url.com

is the best so far!
it copied all the files to the url.com folder
(from the archive_tmp folder)
so we're VERY close now...but...

it didnt' transfer the db
or
setup the new configuration.php file

I get this error:

Connected to url.com, for user username, starting transfer...
Permissions restored to their initial value...

Files succesfully copied to url.com on url.com using FTP
You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '---- Table structure for table `jos_extcal_config`--DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `jos_ex' at line 1

I think it might be a mysql version problem
our original db is mysql 4
and the new one is mysql 5
that might be it...

I'm going to try going from a mysql 4
to a mysql 4
I've heard that can be a problem

thanks Ovidiu for EXCELLENT component
with excellent support!
we're almost there now
what a great component
WOW

very excited we're on the last step now...

Hi there! Ok, you only have left the mysql problem! What you need to do is this:

- go to our Downloads&Upgrades page http://www.joomlaplu.....e,updates/ and get the latest version
- install it on your original site
- get file Joomla.CLoner.php from inside the archive you got and upload it where you want to restore the clone, overwritting the old file
This will solve you the mysql problem you have in place!

Let me know what is the output message! Ovidiu
