I am getting the following error when my cron job executes
Warning: ftp_login() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /home/blah/blah/blah/administrator/components/com_xcloner/cloner.cron.php on line 199
Authentification failed when connecting to the ftp server for user....................
Can you please tell me what it means. I am sure that I have the correct user and password enterted

Try using an ip address instead of the ftp server name and see if you have anymore issues! Ovidiu

I cant use a IP address. I am trying to FTP to another site and another provider that uses DHCP. Therefore the IP changes. Is this the only solution?

So I used the address that is currently assigned to the remote FTP site. Same problem. Now what?

I am NOT trying to restore anything. I am trying to use a cron job to ftp my site backup to another site for safe storage. The cron job works because the backup is created. The FTP function errors every time. I have tried the ftp site NAME & IP Address. I get the error as shown below. I purchased this software specifically for the FTP function.

I'm having the same problem. Connection with ftp sofware is OK but message in the cron log :

I can not ftp the backup with cron.
