Backup does not.
The contents of tar are only index.html.
why?

You backup start path indicates this path "/var/www/sites/web/xcloner" which means it will only backup the xcloner folder, if you want to backup the site root follow these steps:
1. adjust the Backup Start Path to /var/www/sites/web/ in your XCloner Config
2. create the /var/www/sites/web/administrator/backups/ directory
3. change the Backup Store path to /var/www/sites/web/administrator/backups/

What permissions do you have on your /var/www/sites/web/ folder, they should allow the webserver user which runs XCloner to be able to read it's content ?
Also, how much disk space is there available? Ovidiu
