It appears, following testing by Ovidiu during premium support, that there is an issue between XCloner for Joomla and the extensions Advanced Module Manager and Smart SEO.

When restoring a site, no modules appear and non of the existing SEO configurations from Smart SEO make it through the backup process, ie. a restore from the Xcloner backed up database does not work, but a manual database backup and import through myphpadmin does.

Obviously this is worrying if I lose a database as the one Xcloner is backing up is worthless.

Has anything been looked into regarding this?

The issue has rendered XCloner totally useless for me on 30 plus sites that use Advanced Module Manager now (since I discovered that my backups were worthless).

I purchased XCloner when it was commercial only several years ago and it was my first installed component on every new site.  It's a shame that it has come to this 🙁

Let me know if you still have issues!

Thanks for the update.

On J1.5, I have just installed 3.0.8 on three sites and tried to back them up with my usual settings - Manual Backup OFF, Compression ON - and non of them generate a backup (although they do create an sql file in the temp folder).

Changing to MANUAL and No-COMPRESSION I get an "Internal Server Error" part way through the backup.

Re-installing an older version of Xcloner on each site gives me no problems (apart from the Advanced Module Manager issue).

I also find that the latest versions no longer create the adminisrator/backups folder now and this has to be done manually.

The Internal Server Error is usually related to a hosting issue, so make sure you check your site error_log for further details. if your server supports php 5.2.3, you can use the AJAX Backup Mode which usually helps dealing with those issues...
