Hi there,
this is the first time I'm posting here and I hope it's okay to post my problem here.
I've been tinkering about with a wordpress page I'm making for a friend and up to this point I only ever generated backups but never to reinstall one.
Now that I've tried I get an error and can't seem to get it to work.
My plugins all vanished for some reason so I had to reinstall xcloner. I need to install it on the exact same place the site is now. So, I don't want to clone it somewhere else, but use the backup to get a previous version of the site working again.
This is the error I'm getting:
Connected to Normal ftp server XXXX.net-server.de – Active Mode
Moving source file restore/XCloner.php – uploaded -0.00% from 37236 bytes
Warning: ftp_nb_put() [function.ftp-nb-put]: bind() failed: Permission denied (13) in /home/userXXXX/html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/xcloner-backup-and-restore/cloner.functions.php on line 579
Warning: ftp_nb_put() [function.ftp-nb-put]: html//XCloner.php: No such file or directory in /home/userXXXX/html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/xcloner-backup-and-restore/cloner.functions.php on line 579
I've checked the file cloner.functions.php is where I think it should be. Can anyone of you clever guys help me?
Help is appreciated a lot! Thanks,
Anne
by the way...I can't seem to find the TAR.php file needed for manual restoration. xcloner.php is there.
Hi Anne, and welcome to the forum!
From the error you have above, you seem to be running into a ftp upload issue, is the ftp upload path correct? Try recheking it with a ftp client for the given ftp user and pass.
Try and follow this restore wiki /wiki/index.php/Restore_Backup#Restore_Backup_.E2.80.93_Manually , for wordpress, the restore script is located in directory wp-content/plugins/xcloner-backup-and-restore/restore , you should see there XCloner.php and TAR.php files
So, move the backup archive and restore script to your site root, create an empty database, then start the restore process.
Hope it helps! Ovidiu

Thank you so much for your fast reply. I can access the site with an ftp client, so all is well on that end but I'm not sure about the path… I used the html/ path in my account.
I am bit afraid I will muck up everything even more if I do it all manually….but if there's no other way
I get the following error:
550 /html/site/".$rurl.": No such file or directory

This is the output I get when accessing the XCloner.php script with the correct ftp details. I have uploaded the wp files and and the two files that are given in the manual into my clone directory "site".
I swear I donate to project as soon as this gets sorted out.

So, it's some issue with the database but I don't even know at which point I should enter the details of the new database I created.
