I'm having trouble logging in to xcloner.
I've followed the instructions to apend the new password line to the config file to reset the password but this makes no difference. I keep getting a login failed message.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled xcloner but this didn't take me back to the default position of being able to enter admin and admin as the username and password.
any ideas?

It could be a session issue from your server, check with your hosting provider if the sessions.save_path php.ini option is a valid path and writeable.

The sessions.save_path is /var/lib/php/session and the permissions on this directory are: drwxrwx—
Is that sufficient?
Assuming this is OK, what else could be causing the problem?
Thanks,
Mark.

Usually the "login failled" error means something went wrong in providing the matching user/pass, the session issue usually throws no error…
Of the top of my head I am not sure what might cause this issue, but you might need sobody to do a debug which is pretty simple as the passwords are encoded with md5 standard function.

I eliminated "entering the wromg password" as a cause of this fault before raising the case.
As I say I've even tried uninstalling xcloner and reinstalling it.
Do you have any other ideas?

czar: can you send your site php.ini sessions.save_path value here? you need to make sure that points to a valid writeable path so php sessions and login work correctly!
