Hi Folks,

When I try to backup my wordpress-installation I keep getting the following error:

Database backup:

xxxxxxxx: Backup vollständig ( 249.09 KB ) Backup /var/www/vhosts/xxxxxxxx/httpdocs/wordpress/wp-admin/backups/backup_2011-01-24_14-01_xxxxxxxx-sql-nodrop.tgz created, we may continue! Scanning files system... done! (Estimated size:13.81MB)
Processing Files: 29% (400 files) Backup Size: 1.27 MB [xxxx ]

There was an error retreiving the JSON data from the server, try again or contact the developers!

Details: parsererror -- SyntaxError: JSON.parse

What can I do to solve this issue?

Thanks for all help!

HI there! Check your administrator/backups/perm.txt file, and look at lines between 400-500, do you notice any large files there? If so, it might be better to exclude them, then try again!

Hmmm…

I don't know why, but this time it worked fine…

*edit*

just found out: I set "tar" to active - so the script obviously used the server-tools, that seemed to fix it...

Did you set the "Compress backup" option to Yes? If so, that would increase the php memory usage, which would result in a server error in some cases, increasing the memory_limit when compressing would help

Cheers. Ovidiu

Hi!

I DID set the compressing option. And I need it 😉

increasing memory_limit isn't possible for I don't have access to the ini, but I'm fine with using the server-funktions.

The manual BackUps are working and the only thing I still have to find out is how to setup the cronjob - my hoster seems to think I don't need any ;-). Looks like he wants me to pay for that feature *g*
