The above message caem when I tried to make aa back-up. Please help me!
I tried to fix it with the given suggestions, but it didn't work for me.

I had this JSON problem causing backup to fail a couple of times in the clone after I cloned a site with xcloner.
I resolved it partly by
deactivating the plugin
deleting the plugin
installing xcloner from new plugin dialog
then backups ran successfully again.
I still have an issue with this system not asking for authentication credentials but you may or may not get this.
In any case a clean re-install should clear up most problems.
