Xcloner 3.1.1 (March 17th 2014)

Last good backup (March 17th 2014) pre upgrade

Several symtoms depending on where in the fault evaluation process, but predominantly a JSON error. I've tried your earlier option of changing the config to 'Normal' from 'Ajax' but after pressing 'save' I just get a White screen - similarly for other attempted changes to Config.

More recently Wordfence is reporting a difference in an Xcloner file:

I have updated the XCloner plugin so try and reinstall it, you should be getting another error message but more detailed. The issue seems to be with the assigned mysql user to the backup database, does it have all permissions for reading it?

Nothing changed for a few years? Working successfully and regularly up until 3.1? Updates normally installed within a week of release.

Does the 3.1.1 version on the Wordpress site differ from the my installed version?

Can I re-install over the top of the current install, or will I have to reconfigure all of the settings?

Did you reinstall the latest versin of XCloner, do you get a more detailed ereor which you could share with us?

Apologies for the long delayed response, but I've been ill for a week or so.

In my initial report I said:

I did find a 'workaround' which appears to work:

Login to XCloner and in Config change 'Ajax' to 'Normal'
Get all white screen
Logout of Xcloner
Login to XCloner and check that in Config the setting is now set to 'Normal'
Perform Generate Backup. This now works successfully and you can follow the progress on screen?

So, we have a good workaround but I will try a re-install of 3.1.1 when I get back in the office to try and get back to to a nice stable system
