I just installed xCloner to backup my Wordpress website developped locally (EasyPhp-5.3.4.0).
I set in the Configuration options all the paths to /administrator/backups and so on, but when I try to generate a backup, after clicking the Continue button I get the following error message :
"Backup failed, please check your tar server utility support!"
I didn't activate the Server Use Options (Tar or Mysqldump) in the General Tab so I don't understand ... In the Info Tab I have "Tar utility server path:
unable to determine ".
Is there anything else to check/uncheck or change in EasyPhp Apache options ?
Thx for any help 🙂
I see you are using a windows server, try and double check that the administrator/backups folder is fully writeable by all users, while php might see it as writeable, it might not be like that. Best way to check is to go to the Generate Backup area and try to exclude some directories, usually if the checkbox remains unchecked, that means XCloner is unable to write to the administrator/backups folder.

First I checked that the folder administrator/backups is fully writeable (Windows 7) and found it's allways READ ONLY (I uncheck, apply and OK but still there when I come back !), and then I tried to exclude some directories in Generate Backup area and SUCCEEDED ... So I really don't understand where the problem can come from ...!
Why can't I manually change my folders attributs in Windows (same for any folders on my computer) ? Could this be the origin of the problem ?
Hum ... I'm going to search more information about it now ! Thx to help me understand what's going on .... I can't think I'm the only one running a local website with EasyPhp and W7, this is weird ...?
I have been using windows 7 and XAMPPÂ to test XCloner, and there weren't any permission issues, i am not familiar with EasyPhp, but you might want to give XAMPP also a try and see how it goes.

Hum, why not, if there's no other way .... But the problem remains the same : how do I transfer my local website EasyPhp to Xampp without backing and restore it ..? Maybe it's very simple but I've never done that before, I'd be very happy to have some information on the process 🙂
Thx for you time ...
