Do these errors make my backup unreliable?
Hi there! I am guessing your are using JoomlaCloner to backup your site, unfortunately it's code is pretty old(same as Joomla 1.0.x version which is no longer supported), you should use it's upgraded version XCloner. The generated backup should be fine however, feel free to make a test restore.

I had actually eMailed you last week ([email protected]) and you recommended that I install JoomlaCloner (maybe because I'm running 1.1.12 stable under PHP5) and you provided a link to the install package. I have installed that under my current Joomla production site.
Anyway, I went ahead and followed the suggestion in your note above regarding the backup I made earlier and that seemed to work (once I figured out the correct FTP path). However, once the initial cloning step was completed, I was taken to a web page that looked like the home page of my currently semi-functional site, but no sign of the Xcloner Automatic Restore form. The web link in my browser address is: http://www.isfforum.com/newdev.....Cloner.php
Clearly, I've done something incorrect, but I retraced my steps and ended up with the same result (w/apologies to A. Einstein).
If I had to guess, I would think this might be a problem with the FTP path I used for the cloning process (/). The new site is going to be http://www.isfforum.com/newdev (website URL), and the FTP folder where I wanted to restore is www/newdev.
Apologies for asking what are likely big-time newbie questions…
JoomlaCloner is compatible with PHP 5 up to version 5.3 so that might be the issue in the first place, unfortunately as i mentioned, that package is no longer supported, and we offer it for users who would like to use it on their Joomla 1.0.x sites at their own responsibility.
And yes, you are correct about restore, the ftp upload path needs to match the url. You also have the possibility to move the backup archive and restore script from the administrator/components/com_cloner/restore manually to the new restore location and start the restore process from there

Ovidiu,
Thanks for the follow-up reply and additional info -- that's very helpful and I think it may help me get on the right track if you can answer a couple of additional questions.
I'm looking to create a new site that will be: http://www.isfforum.com/newdev. I have created the newdev directory with the www directory as its parent. Once JoomlaCloner has created the back-up and then created the clone script, what are the names of the files I need to move (I assume this is the the backup file and the clone script) and where do they need to be moved (/newdev). Then, once they are in place, how do I execute the script?
Thanks -- I see a sliver of light at the far end of my knowledge tunnel...
As i specified above, the JoomlaCloner restore script is composed of 3 files located in this directory administrator/components/com_cloner/restore in your original site. So, you need to upload those 3 files along with the backup archive to the new location, newdev/ subdirectory, and then simply start the restore script as http://www.isfforum......Cloner.php
From here, the restore procedure is the same as XCloner, please check the restore wiki from our Documentation section
Hope it helps! Ovidiu

A couple of other database-related questions. In filling out the Joomla! Automatic Restore form database section, I'm not sure what to do. What I want to accomplish is have the same data available on my dev site as I had when I did the production site backup. Can you suggest some parameters here that I can use for the following database fields to accomplish this without any risk that I compromise the database that runs the production site. My database.sql.sql file size is roughly 9 MB, which I think is pretty small:
Mysql server: ??? (defaults to "localhost")
Mysql username: (I have this)
Mysql password: (I have this, too)
Mysql database: ???
Checkbox ? - Skip files restore, will attempt to restore only database (appears in red)
Checkbox ? - Restore by using the server utilities unzip/tar
Radio button? - Install files throught ftp
Checkbox ? - incremental transfer
Radio button? - Install files directly
Finally, I have been having some problems with entering proper FTP paths. I would assume that based on what I'm trying to do here, that I want the "ftp root path of where Joomla will be installed" should be www/newdev. Or should it be /newdev?
