That file should be included in the backup archive, same directory, usually it's deleted after the backup process, did you get a success message at the end of the backup process?
Ovidiu
No, I got a Backup Failed message. But I checked the backup directory and the file was there.

Do you have the full message you received after the backup? The backup you have there might be incomplete! Ovidiu
I just deleted the previous backup files and did the backup again so that I could copy/paste the error message for you. Here is what the messages were:
Deprecated: Function ereg() is deprecated in /home/isfforum/public_html/administrator/components/com_cloner/cloner.functions.php on line 1782
Deprecated: Function ereg() is deprecated in /home/isfforum/public_html/administrator/components/com_cloner/cloner.functions.php on line 1785
Warning: is_dir() expects parameter 1 to be string, resource given in /home/isfforum/public_html/administrator/components/com_cloner/cloner.functions.php on line 1743
Backup failed! Please check that you have support for the zip
utility(/usr/bin/zip or /usr/local/bin/zip) on your server and the path
you set it's corect in Configuration, or choose the Tar archive type!

OK -- that one worked OK. Here is the message that appeared when the backup was completed:

A couple of other things I noticed here -- My database.sql.sql file is now roughly 15MB, whereas before it was only around 9MB. On the other hand, the ZIP file archive of my backup is only 3,346 bytes. Should the ZIP archive be larger than that?

OK, when I click on the "continue" link, that produces a series of error messages and additional "continue" links similar to this:

When I clicked through all of the error messages (around 300 in total), the file size for the backup was still only around 4,000 bytes.
I see, it does seem JoomlaCloner will not work properly on your host. It would be better to use XCloner standalone version, as it is only installable as a Joomla 1.5 native component. So get the XCloner standalone version, upload it's files inside the administrator/components/xcloner folder and access that directory directly in your browser and follow the backup procedure as detailed in the manual
Hope it helps! Ovidiu
