Hi - I've been using XCloner for a year or two on our village website (www.fairlight.org.uk) and have not had any issues. However, I've just migrated the site from Joomla 2.5 to Joomla 3.3.6

I can backup the site manually but the CRON job is not working! The resulting email simply says:

"X-Powered-By: PHP/5.3.27

Content-type: text/html

<h2>To run this script you need to create a custom config file inside XCloner Config, and call the script using php cli command like this:</h2>
<strong>php /home/fair/public_html/administrator/components/com_xcloner-backupandrestore/cloner.cron.php mycustomconfig.php</strong>"

I am not trying to run multiple CRON jobs so I'm just using the default settings. However I have also tried saving the XCloner settings to a file and then using the modified CRON line to include the profile name but still get the same result. Can you suggest what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks for your help.

regards,

Bill

There may be a problem using the default mode but I've just tried using a profile saved to a specific file ... and it's worked fine. I'll leave it set that way now.

Hence, feel free to ignore my previous posting!

Thanks,

Bill

Hi Bill !

On Cpanel, this cron works for me :

/usr/bin/php -f
/home/account/public_html/sitefolder/administrator/components/com_xcloner-backupandrestore/cloner.cron.php customconfig.php

Thanks Django,

My CRON job now looks like this:

/usr/bin/php /home/fair/public_html/administrator/components/com_xcloner-backupandrestore/cloner.cron.php daily.php and I'll find out in the morning if the overnight backup has worked!

What does the -f in yours do?

Thanks,

Bill

The -f is supposed to avoid some error messages, but I don't remember where I found this information.

It probably works fine without that.

Have you solved your problem ?

Django,

Yes, the overnight backup has worked fine.Smile

Looks like the default CRON task for XCloner doesn't work under Joomla 3 and that the default config file needs to be specified on the CRON task.

Perhaps the developer will see this and modify the code or the default CRON task.

Thanks for your help.

Bill
