Backup to Amazon S3 Account

I'd love the ability to backup to my Amazon S3 account.

Because I have  VPS - my space is limited, and with a network of 20 sites (and growing to 50 by end of 2011), I'd rather save the space for my live files. Amazon S3 allows me to pay $2 per month for regular backup storage, since I only pay for what I use.

Thanks!

HI there! We are pleased to let you know this feature has been implemented  in the latest download version, you may find the option and Active setting in the XCloner Config -> Cron Tab

Let me know if you find any issues with the new feature.

OK, I finally got my new BETA in place and I'm working on getting my system set-up for XCloner. I'm unsure about the Upload Directory setting for Amazon S3. I just have the bucket. Is it a requirement?

Thanks!

No, the upload path is not a requirement, you can leave that empty if you like, the backup will go to the bucket root

I have to say, I have xcloner working and backing up to My Amazon S3 account every night. You rock!

I'm in the process of getting my business PayPal account set up, and as soon as I do, I'm going to be sending money, because this is a wonderful product. TRULY!

I'm on a VPS, which means that my disk space is large, but limited. Here are my questions:

1. Does xcloner also delete files over a certian period of time from the Amazon S3 account?

2. Is it possible to delete ALL copies on the local server once the files have been transferred to the Amazon S3 server?

For example, I'd love to keep 15 days on my Amazon S3, and 0 copies on my local server.

Is that possible?

THANK YOU so much for everything. It's wonderful! *smiles*

Hi Heather, glad to hear everything is working ok!

As for point 1., XCloner does not delete files from the Amazon account, you will need to do that manually, however if does delete them from the server if you check that option, or when you use the "Delete backups older than..." option, please check the wiki regarding those options.
