I can't seem to get my cron job working!

It says I don't have tar utility, however, Ive disabled the 'Tar path or command:' in the 'General' tab and still getting this issue.

The whole error is:

Backup failed! Please check that you have support for the tar utility(/usr/bin/tar or /usr/local/bin/tar) on your server and the path you set it's corect in Configuration, or choose the Zip archive type!

There is no option to choose the zip archive type! Only to untick the tar. The even weirder thing is that when i make a manual backup through the 'Generate backup' link then it seems to work just fine and the backup creates a tgz file perfectly fine.

Help!?

I just figured this out. I had used a saved congifuration that i kept running.

This is very confusing way to use the saved configuration from a usability prespective. I assumed that if I save the config that it auto updated the current saved one i am using.

The process should be more streamlined so it makes more sense for the user. ie.

1. Open the config

2. Make the changes

3. Save the changes

4. Close

Where as right now its more like:

1. Make changes

2. Save the config

3. Close

You are right, there is room for improvement there, right now as you've already discovered, you have to re-save your custom config when making changes related to it.
