I get this error with xcloner for Wordpress. I checked the path for tar and modified it from "tar" to "/bin/tar" output from "which" command but still no luck. Ideas?

And it's weird because I get a success message!
Starting the manual backup process!
Database backup: XXXXX: Backup Completed ( XXXX KB )
Backup failed, please check your tar server utility support!
Looks like there is a lot of work to do with this utility based on all of the comments...

I would advise unchecking the tar "Active" checkbox, it should help. Ovidiu

I am actually experiencing the exact same issue.
I have tried with and without the tar "Active" checkbox.
With tar "Active" checkbox unchecked:
TAR error: Unable to open in write mode '/var/www/mysite.com/blog/bkups/MYBCKUP.tar'
Backup failed using tar mode, error code !
Database backup:
wrdpress: Backup Completed ( 815.93 KB )
Backup failed, please check your tar server utility support!
With tar "Active" checkbox checked:
Starting the manual backup process!
Database backup: wrdpress: Backup Completed ( 815.93 KB )
Backup failed, please check your tar server utility support!

From the error you have there it seems Xcloner is unable to write to this directory /var/www/mysite.com/blog/bkups , so try and check it's permissions, make sure they are fully writeable, then try again.
