Maybe someone here can verify whether or not XCloner can help us...
We are a marketing firm that has several Wordpress and Drupal sites that
are hosted by various hosting companies (GoDaddy, HostGator, etc), and
we need a backup solution that can backup both clients remotely, without
being installed on those servers, and can put the backups on another server.
This means backing up files and databases.
We also need the ability to restore those backups quickly and
efficiently. Most of the sites are not very big, so we are looking at a
maximum of one hour to restore or backup.
Can anyone verify for certain whether or not XCloner can do this for all of our PHP/SQL/MySQL websites?

And if it is installed on the existing server, can it do the following:
1) Can it back up any Wordpress or Drupal site?
2) Can it back the sites folders AND Database up?
3) Does it back them up to a compressed file, or uncompressed, or what?
4) Can it do schedule backups, ones that are indepedant of the site's updates, like a CRON job?
5) Can it backup to a remote FTP server or DropBox?
6) Can it do an easy restore, one that is just a few clicks to resolve?
In short, can XCloner do everything else that we needed, just note remotely?
1) since XCloner works also as standalone backup application, it can backup any site, including Wordpress/Drupal
2) yes
3) XCloner has options for both compressed(tgz) and uncompressed backups(tar)
4) yes, XCloner can be scheduled through a cron manager to run automated backups
5) it can send backups to a remove ftp server, amazon S3, or email if backups are small
6) restore is pretty easy and it's fully explained in the XCloner online manual
Hope it helps! Ovidiu
