Cannot make a full backup

I cannot get a full backup with xcloner.
When I set it to Ajax, I get the following message (when aprox 300 files are processed):
There was an error retrieving the JSON data from the server, try again or contact the developers!
Details: error — undefined
JSON url: index2.php?option=com_cloner&task=refresh&json=1&startf=300&lines=13818&backup=backup_2014-01-15_02-15_www.twopointdemo.nl-sql-nodrop.tar&excl_manual=
When I set the configuration to Normal (so no Ajax) then the process runs upto aprox 40% of the files and a backup file of 30Mb is generated. This ends with a blank screen (no further messages).

I just found this info: my hosting party ( http://www.strato.de ) uses a maximum file size of 30Mb. This is why the proces stops at that point.
Can I configure xcloner to split the archive in files of eg max 20Mb?
