I am trying to clone a web site from my development server to the production server.
The web site includes some characters in Romanian with utf8 encoding. The site works properly on the test server.
When I clone the site to the production server all high ascii characters are stripped.
I have already tried looking for solution in the forum and tried:
- checked that utf8 is selected during import
- choose Active on mysqldump
- added @mysql_query("SET NAMES 'utf8'"); in common.php
Every time I tried a new installation I dropped and recreated the data base and deleted all files.
Any ideas?
Roberto
Hi Roberto, when restoring(through the XCloner.php restore script), there is an option called "Data encoding" under your Mysql details, try and set that to utf8 or latin1 and see if it helps.
You need to check through phpmyadmin, what encoding is set for the original database and try to match that to the new database when creating it, and see if it helps.
