I am trying to move a website from one server to another, to check it I am trying to make a clone of a website on a different domain.

I deleted all the files in the home directory (public_html) and its subdirectories

I deleted the MySQL database and generated a new empty database

I copied the backup generated on the main directory of the current damain to the new domain server home directory

I copied the TAR.php and XCloner.php files to the home directory

and ran XCloner.php

It copied the folder structure no problem

I set the username, dbname and password fields leaving the other options as default

It copied the database no problem.

When I try to run it, I get a error page saying that I have not uploaded the site content yet the content is there.

Looking at wp-config.php, I found the username, dbname and password had the backup values added to the end of the lines but when I corrected them it still failed. Looking at the database, the links still show the backedup address (ie the links are absolute and haven't  been changed)

I can get into the dashboard and see the content.

What have I done wrong?

My experience is just as bad.  I don't know where to begin.

K,  so if the wp-admin area works, then probably some kind of plugin is  breaking your site. Simply disable them all and start debugging, enable them one by one, enable php errors display on your server and see where the issue is...
