Perhaps this is an FAQ, but I haven't seen it.

I want to clone or copy my sight to create a second instantiation on my same webhost account.   I am doing this to create a sandbox clone that we can try out risky things on.

My question:  when I do this, as the new site will be on the same MySQL server, do I need to worry that the clone is going to try to write to the same database tables as the original?  Does the clone/SQL know to create new database tables during restoration?  Is there a switch setting I need to invoke to make this happen correctly?

All this is happening with a Joomla 2.5.6 site.

Thanks.

XCloner does NOT create a new database, so make sure you first do that before starting the restore process, then use those details when asked.

Hope it helps! Ovidiu
