Hello there!

Well, I'm really hoping XCloner will do the job for me...so far it has installed easily, backed up everything quickly, but now I need to restore back to my WAMP localhost. I backed up from my live website, downloaded the .tar file via ftp, installed joomla! and XCloner to WAMP, moved over the .tar file etc so that I can now see the files within the Joomla backend, but I am being asked to include ftp details in order to restore (or 'clone')...is there any way that I can install directly

Many thanks,

bplumb

Hi Ovidiu,

Apologies, I realised this quite late last night! However, when unzipping the .tar file, it gets to my .docx files and stops saying 'TAR error: Error while opening (C:/wamp/www/....docx) in write binary mode'

Is this something you have come across before or do you have any suggestions I could try to resolve this? I really hope to get XCloner working with my site and if so, we'd gladly pay for premium support.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts,

Make sure the archive has the same size as on the original host, if you still have issues, try and extract the backup archive manually and restart the restore process with the "Skip files restore" option checked.
