Is there a trick to using XCloner in a directory that already has a website in it?  I am trying to clone two sites that I am switching over to Joomla, both of which have directories that are important for various reasons.  I have uploaded the restore file, XCloner.php and the TAR file, I run the script through XCloner.php and it says it was successful, but VOILA! when I go to the website nothing has changed.

Did you get a success message after the database import? Try maybe and use an empty database and see if it helps!

Yes, I got a success message.

I no longer get the existing web site, but now after the "All should be done!  Click here to continue…"

I am getting a white screen that says:

I would advise checking your site error log, you should have more details on that error there! Usually you should check that:

1. permissions are correct, so try reseting them to 755 for directories and 644 for files

2. .htaccess code is correct

3. there isn't any other limitation on the server, in which case your best bet is to check with the hosting provider

I checked the permissions and they were all correct.

What is .htaccess supposed to look like?

I compared it to the site I am cloning from and it looks identical.

The logs showed missing 404.shtml, favicon.ico files, and 500.shtml files.  I placed those files back in the directory, now I just get a blank page.

I would advise checking with your hosting support to see if they can spot the issue, the problem is related to how the script runs on the hosting server
