When i try and generate a database backup at the configuration -> cron tab instead of backing up all the tables inside the database it backups an empty shell, there is nothing after the database name inside the sql file it backs up, i have tried several different login combinations at the configuration -> authentication tab to no avail.

Do you get any issues if you try and generate the backup directly from the Generate Backup screen? Please post here a screenshot after your Cron tab config.

It appears that the Mysqldump path or command active box at the configuration -> general tab became unticked when i was fiddling with the php.ini, and that was responsible for backing up the database, when i ticked it and generated a backup directly from the generate backup screen, the sql file was now full of data.
