I am a little baffled cause as the headline says, I am a rookie. I created a directory calle clone and put everything in it. I did my site with Xcloner and everything came up ok.
I was just wondering cause I did this a s a manual install, it has my path for the server and then gives me a second url to install to with my site and then /clone on the end. If I leave this does it mean I will have to type in my site with /clone when I want to see it on the web. I am new at this. I took the clone out and just had my url on it but it still came back with that on it.
Second, I was restoring over an old site, just updating it on the server from my localhost. When it came time to do the sql it kept saying that all those tables and files and things already exist and wanted me to click to ignore the query and continue on. Was it writing the new stuff I updated ot just skipping it. Next how can I stop having to sit for a long time and keep clicking to continue.
Will I need to clean everything out and put the backup into a clean site each time.
I hope I have not offended you for seeming daft, but as I said I am new at this and it is my first time
Thanx in advance

I got the second url thing straightened out. I put everything in main and then figured out that it has to be capitol xc so I got the restore to come up, but I was a dumby and erased my old data base and now the restore will not work cause my data base is empty. Can i get around that or what should I do about it.

Me again. I figured out what I should have done the first time. Now I say import files and it skips importing them. I am lost.
If I go and put a normal joomla install fresh on my server, can I run the cloner and will it imprt and place the new third party components in my data base or does cloner just copy file per file and will not make new places in the data base.
Silly questions but I am trying.
