After viewing many posts here witthout finding a solution, I'm writing here.
I installed xcloner 3.0 component on my joomla remote installation. Install went ok.
Then, going to component menu link, l get an "internal server error". Tried many times to change folder permissions in various ways, as suggested in other posts but without results.
Server log errors:
[Wed May 25 15:18:36 2011] [error] [client 94.87.92.162] Premature end of script headers: index.php, referer: http://www.petronehospitaldiv.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_xcloner-backupandrestore |

Joomla 1.5.23
PHP Version 5.2.17
Mysql 5.1.56
Apache/2.2 on Unix
thanks in advance
Marco
Hi Marco, please try and apply 755 permissions on the following folders:
administrator/components/
administrator/components/com_xcloner-backupandrestore/
All 500 errors are logged inside your site error log, you might want to check the full error message there. Additionally you can also contact your hosting support to help.

My bad, just noticed the error "suexec policy violation: see suexec log" error, seems to be related to a suexec issue, try and change the files owner/group from the administrator/components/com_xcloner-backupandrestore/ folder so they match your account.
The owner/group could be the one of the apache user and they got assigned when you installed the XCloner component, might want to fix that on your server.

I was not referring to the directory/files permissions, but the owner/group of those files http://www.tuxfiles......owner.html
Anyway, i don't think you can change those manually unless you have admin access to the server, so try and contact your hosting support to fix that for you.
If it still does not work, then simply uninstall XCloner, and install it by using the Joomla ftp layer option activated(check for ftp option in the Joomla Global Config) so the files owners/groups match the ftp user.

I activated the ftp layer on global conf.
As i try to install the component, i get this error:
- JFTP::mkdir: Bad response
- JFTP::mkdir: Bad response
- Unable to create destination
If I deactivate the ftp layer, the component seems to be installed correctly, but when I try to get to xcloner I have again the server error....
what can i do?...
