Hi there,
I backed up a Joomla 1.7 site using XCloner, then cloned it to XAMPP (localhost) on my own computer. The site itself moved pretty well (a few of the links don't work, but that can be fixed.)
The problem is I can't log into the Administration interface on the cloned version of the site. I presume the Administrative username and password would be the same as on the original site. When I try to log in, I get "404 Component not found" from my browser.
What should I do?

Note that NONE of the usernames and passwords work for Administrative login--neither the Super Administrator, nor a login at the Manager level.

From the looks of that error, you might be missing some of the original site files, try extracting the backup archive manually and restart the restore process, or you can also try to upgrade the site to the latest Joomla version...
