1. I am trying to clone a site ( i successfully backed it up) but when I try to Clone it, it asks for FTP information. This is not needed as it's on the same server. I can't figure out how to clone without FTP. Can I clone without having to use FTP?

2. Also tried the FTP as I was really getting upset and could not login to ftp site using XCloner not sure what going on.

Thank You,

Salvatore

Hi Salvatore, please check this Restore wiki , it should help understanding the restore process, it is the same for a remote host as well for a local site.

Hello, Ovidiu.

I've tryed everything but i cannot restore the backup.

I've moved the backup file manually via ftp, along with the xcloner.php file, but my browser says restrict access.

The folder is 755.

Regards,

Meeguel.

Hi Meeguel, can you post a screenshot of the error please?

Are you able to run any other php scripts in that location? it could be a server issue, in which case you would need to check with your hosting provider! Ovidiu

I had this problem when I used the xcloner.php file that is in the root of the xcloner folder.  When I used the xcloner.php file from the restore folder it worked.

Great software - works well!

Now Im facing the same problem, but the issue is that there is no XCloner.php file in the restore folder, only TAR.php, so how can I generate a XCloner.php file?

There is no need to generate it, you can find that file inside the XCloner install package which you can download from our site.
