Two weeks ago, I had a .tar archive which I downloaded from somewhere. I didn't extract the file at that moment. Day before yesterday when I returned from my tour, I needed to extract the data from it. When I tried, I found the file is corrupted. I don't know who the 'devil' touched my computer at my office!
I couldn't re-download it as it was not there from where I downloaded it earlier. I had no option other than recovering its data by using 3rd party recovery software. I came to know about SysInfoTools Archive Recovery software through some technical and computer support forums. I read about it and tried its demo. It scanned a good amount of data of corrupt .tar archive. But it was paid. I have heard that there are scripts which can help me recovering my data from corrupt .tar archive. Please help me if anyone knows anything related to this issue.
Though I'm impressed with SysInfoTools' product, but before buying its full version, I would like to go for some free service.
Thanks in advance.
