error retreiving the JSON data from the server|Joomla Support|Forum Archive|XCloner

Hi,

Having newly installed XCloner 3.0 in Joomla 1.6 I get the following error when trying to generate my first backup. 

I've looked through other forum topics on this and tried every suggestion without luck. Any additional thoughts please?
