Error unpacking with XCloner on shared environments | Joomla Support | Forum Archive

Hi there,

In the past I've always been able to use Xcloner perfectly to restore my sites on several different shared hosting plans. I think maybe it changed after they updated to newer versions of php, but nowadays, when I restore a site, it starts unpacking the files but there's always some error towards the end that makes the unpacking fail, after that the database is restored fine, but the site does not work...

What I always do after that is unpack the RAR file on my computer, ZIP it and then upload it again and unpack it manually from the Direct ADmin console that my hosting platform has. After that the site works fine.

So I'm pretty sure the backup is fine,  it's just that something goes wrong restoring, can anybody give me a clue how to fix this?

I am using the latest version of Xcloner (dated 3/9/2011) that is available
