Hello,
I am using Joomla 2.5 and am testing out xcloner on my site before I start using it on my clients' sites. I want to have the backups of their sites FTPed to my external harddrive. I set up a FileZilla Server installed on my computer. I created a user for the server, whose home directory is on the external harddrive. I can successfully access that directory via DreamWeaver FTP, but when trying to connect using xCloner I have problems.
My cronjob is automating beautifully, but it will not http://FTP. I checked my settings, and I have it set to send to a remote server, and I have my FTP info plugged in, just as it was plugged in DW.
Anyway, after reading some threads in this forum, I decided to test the connection by trying to "move" a backup to the FileZilla server and it said that it could not connect. I currently have a ticket into my parent host of the site that I am backing up about outgoing FTP and file size limits. If that is not the problem, could it be my IP address for the server? The IP is 127.0.0.1, but that seems to be default for all FileZilla server installs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Jennifer

What is the ftp server address you have setup in your ftp config details, can you post a screenshot of the details? The server name format needs only to have the ip address, so no http:// or ftp:// in front.

Here is the screenshot of my cron configuration page. I only have the ip number plugged in that FileZilla provided to me when I installed the server on my computer. Also, there is another screenshot of the page that comes up when I try to "move" the backup.
Thank you,

Oh, one thing that I am not sure matters.... I changed the
port number from 21 to 800 (as suggested in this video: ).
The ftp neither worked when it was 21 nor 800, so it may not matter anyway.

PS Your spell checker ins't working, from what I can see... it thought "ething" was fine when I misspelled "thing."
Well something is wrong with the ftp details you are providing, i can have a closer look if you care to open up a support ticket and send us your XCloner and ftp details to make a few tests.
Otherwise, please check this tutorial /wiki/index.php?title=Restore_Backup#Restore_Backup_.E2.80.93_Manually for an alternative restore option.
