Hello,

I have the following issue:

I had to migrate a Joomla website from a hosting provider to another, together with the domain.

First, I have cloned the vbabes.org website from the first hosting provider to the second hosting provider.

As the domain was registered with the first hosting provider, I decided to clone it to a subdirectory of my account, named vbabes.cretoiu.ro thinking that after I manage to transfer the domain, I can make the domain point to that subdirectory.

The transfer went well, both for the website and domain (the domain points correctly).

The only thing that bothers me is that the website Home link in the Main Menu points to the vbabes.cretoiu.ro

I wonder that went wrong with this link and how can this matter be corrected. The website is accessible at vbabes.org but after someone clicks on the Home link, the web address in the addressbar changes to vbabes.cretoiu.ro

The same problem appears when logging to Joomla Admin interface. Entering login info at vbabes.org/administrator reloads the login page at vbabes.cretoiu.ro/administrator Only then the authentication becomes possible.

I think of making vbabes.org point to a different subdirectory and cloning again the entire site from vbabes.cretoiu.ro What do you suggest?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Dragos, please check your configuration.php file and see if you spot there your old site url, try and remove/update it, also i would advise clearing your site cache and see if it helps!

Make sure the configuration.php file from the new site got updated with the new  mysql restore details, usually in that process XCloner also updates the live site url.

Thank you so much, Ovidiu.

The problem was indeed in the configuration.php file at var $live_site =

which listed the wrong site.

Simple, but brilliant.

Thanks again.
