Hi,

Can you help please?

I am new to Xcloner.....I have been trying to restore the backup website and have encountered several errors. I know it may be due to my low knowledge about web programming. I tried using most of the answers to the forum question to fix them. The error below is the persitent one which I don't know how to fix now. I guess it is problem with my WAMP settings as stated in the error. I tried installing Joomla directly on the server and it works fine with no error. So, I don't know what the problem might be.

I am using WAMP 2.1e (Php 5.3.5). I am backing up a Joomla website using manual method, since it is on my localhost.

The error below:

'Internal Server Error

 The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

 Please contact the server administrator, admin@localhost and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

 More information about this error may be available in the server error log.'

Can you tell us if you are getting this error when trying to access the restore script or when restoring? If it's the first one, try and reset the permissions to 755 for directories and 644 for files, it should help. Also delete any .htaccess files that is being restored.

Thanks abunch

Well, I resolved that one now with your hint. It is the .htaccess that is causing the problem. I deleted it and it runs from there.

Now I can only view the first page of the website and the login page in the admin. other pages are not showing.I first thought maybe the permission was not written for the files. But I tried to enable the error display to see what is wrong with the page. There is the error message ontop the home page that is showing and for the other pages that are not showing, no error is showing. I think it is still related to the error on the home page.

... I don't know how to work around this.

Below is the error message I got ontop of the home page:

( ! ) Notice: Undefined variable: cacheBuf2 in C:\wamp\www\52north\components\com_sef\joomsef.php on line 2171

Try settting the error_reporting php.ini variable to disable notice messages like this

error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE

also if you are using SEF urls on your site, i would suggest to disable it and see if it helps!
