I'm restonging a live Joomla! site to a local XAMPP server. Doing everything by the book, and everything seems to work fine. Then I go to the proper directory to access the site {localhost / clone} and I get a message saying that the directory does not exist/cannot be found.
I am using osx. Is XCloner capable of restoring this Joomla site to my local xampp server? Does anyone have instructions on how to do it?

Yes, XCloner can restore the site to a local xampp server without issues, make sure your restore folder is fully writeable before attempting the restore...

Thanks Ovidiu! Do you know how I would go about doing this in OSX? or would it be better to use Windows instead?
Also, just to clarify, the XCLoner backup files unpack sucessfully into the proper directory. I just can't access the local copy of my site through a web browser.

The restore process as detailed in our restore wiki is the same for both Windows and OSX. You might however be running into other type of issues after restoring, like a custom .htaccess code, or miss-configured plugin.
