Many thanks for dovelping such easy to use and configure tolls. I easily backed up an reinstalled a joomla website on a new server,  However it seems I am having a problem with collation and the new web site is displaying only question marks instead of Arabic characters.

I wonder if any developer has a solution for this problem?

Can you check and see what is the source collation of your original database? XCloner uses utf-8 to export and reimport the data, so if it's something else, make sure you select the appropiate collation on the restore XCloner.php screen...

Many thanks for your reply Ovidiu. The collation for the orginal datebase is "utf8_general_ci".  I use the default setting when I reinsall the website on the other server. After that I change the collation back to "utf8_general_ci" again using (Phoca Changing Collation) utility.

I checked every single in the database to make sure that it all contain the same collation, I correct just few instances but the pproblem still the same?!!

Try and reimport the administrator/backups/database-sql.sql file found in the backup archive by using phpmyadmin and see if it helps...

Many thanks for your reply. I already did that today earlier and it sorted and the website worked. But sorry I couldn't write to the fourm because I was busy.

However I still thinking why collation couldn't sorted using Xcloner!
