Hi

Ive moved and restored a few pages now, so i get the fundemental, but this time im moving a site thats 3gb in size. This means that XClone makes two files when doing a backup. One on 2gb and one at about 1gb (thats last is named .1.tar in the end)

When im about to choose witch file to restore from i get a bit confused. Ive tryed to just choose the main (2gb) file, but then the site lacks some files (those from .1.tar)

What is the correct way to do this?

Thx for an awesome exstension 🙂

Restore each of the backups first by excluding the mysql restore option, so you have all your files restored, and then do a third restore with the "skip files restore" option checked to import just the database.

Hope it helps

Ahh.. didnt think of that.. It makes sence thou 🙂

What do i do with the database backup, run both the 2gb and the 1gb and set it to import database only, or just one of them?

Cheers for the quick reply, as allways 😀

Hmm.. Just did as you asked, but i can see that half the site is missing, alot of pictures simply dont show. Seems like the Joomla structure is intact, so im guesing it must be the small part that havent been ekstracted right? 🙁

Make sure the disk space is enough to suit a full restore on your new site, if you like, feel free to check if the files(missing pictures) are in the backup by opening the backup archives on your computer, to see if this is a backup issue or restore fault. To restore the database only, you would need to identify the backup part that has the administrator/backups folder inside, and extract that one out

There is unlimited space on the server, so that aint a problem.

Is it posible to set the backup to make one big file instead of 2? When i tryed that, i got an error saying that i could not exceed 2gb. You might now how to change this becouse when its one file, it has always worked for me to move sites around.

Yes, you can do that from XCloner Config System tab, "Split Backup Archive" option, however make sure your php is compiled to support files over 2GB in size!
