Hi,

I have the backup up and running now, but I would like to test the restore functionality now.

The way to do the restore is:

https://docs.xcloner.com/#/

question I have now is:

What should I do with the existing website.

What I want to test is: e.g. somebody hacked my website, or some of the publisher really broke the whole structure of my website, and I just would like to recover to an old version and start over again.

Question is: What should I do with the existing website before I start the restore action ? Which files should I delete, should I cleanup some databases, etc. I have a Joomla website, and I only have very basic knowledge of how that works (just a happy user).

Kind regards,
Luc

You should:

1. move the existing files to a subdirectory

2. create a new database and leave the old one intact

3. start the restore process

4. if all goes well, delete the old files from 1. and remove the old database

Hope it helps!
