I have the need to provide some site managers the ability to trigger a database back-up on demand from a front end manager user menu.  The desire is to have the database (only) image e-mailed to a pre-defined address.

I have created a cron task confg  file from within the backed Xcloner admin screens that executes the desired backup.  I have also created a menu item link (url) to /administrator/components/com_xcloner-backupandrestore/cloner.cron.php .  However, I can't get the command to pick up the desire cron config file as it always uses the default.  It may be I do not have the right syntax in the url definition.

What is the right syntax to use?  Is there a better way to accomplish this?

The underlying need just for reference is the websites undergo an automatic weekly full backup, that is stored to the cloud.  This handles normal operation.  However, if a administrator does a significant amount of content addition in the mid week, there is a desired to have an interim database backup generated on demand for protection until the next system backup runs.  This is an occasionaly situation that doesn't require automated sechuduled backups.

XCloner has the ability to create/name custom cron configs, so try and do that, a link it automatically generated and you can simply use that, it would look like

http://(url)/adminis.....config.php

Is there a way to add a second copy of this into WordPress.

i want one to do Web files with one install, while the other install does Databases separately.

We know they can both be done under one install, but we actually need these done with two searate installs.

So how do we install two copies of this without conflict during activation?

Thanks for the quick response.  This sent me in the right direction to get this to work.  I am providing some notes below for others than may have the same need and issue.

1)  In Xcloner under Administration->Configuration there is a "cron tab" that lets you defined different cron config files.  The configs are stored in .../com_xcloner ----/configs/  directory with the name you assign above such as "myfile.php".

2) To create the menu entry use external URL type, and for the link use admin---/components/com_xclone-------/cloner.cron.php?config=myfile.php  (i.e. the name of the desire config file created above).   The item I was missing was appending the "?config=myfilename".

3) You can create different menu links that connect to different defined config files for different backup actions.

4) If you don't want to restrict the IP the command can be executed from, you can use wildcards *.*.*.* for the allowed IP address.
