Im trying to clone my joomla site to a new server, I have done the back up and moved it to the public_html folder on the new server but how do i install it on the new server?

Please check our restore wiki /wiki/index.php/Restore_Backup#Restore_Backup_.E2.80.93_Manually , it should help!

okay, so i have installed the backup to folder etc but i must be doing it wrong as i get an error
"Infinite loop detected in JError"
I dont totaly understand it all, thought i had done it right but clearly not. Really need to get this sorted asap.

if you could put as much info about the MySQL databases, if i need it to be the same name as previous server, if the folder needs to be same name as original server etc etc that would be great as i dont know much about this sort of thing but really need to get it done. thanks

The restore script is independent from the original site, so all paths, url and mysql detais can be changed and they be valid only on the new location.
Retry and restore again, and post here a screenshot if you still have issues! Ovidiu
