Hi,
While restoring with the XCloner.php script and TAR file, I'm receiving the following TAR error when restoring the flat files:
TAR error: Error while opening {/var/www/vhosts/koperpoets.nl/httpdocs/dev/administrator/components/com_xcloner-backupandrestore/css/start/images/ui-bg_inset-hard_100_fcfdfd_1x100.png} in write binary mode
Hope somebody can help me.

Hi Roy, try and extract your backup archive manually or if possible, check the "Restore by using server utiltiies" option and see if it helps!

Thanks for the quick response.. It seems that files within the TAR archive have 'corrupted' extension... The above error message refers to:
ui-bg_inset-hard_100_fcfdfd_1x100.png
However, looking in the TAR archive, this file does have as extension .pn and not the expected .png
In total 9 files within administrator/components/com_xcloner-backupandrestore/css/start/images/ have .pn as extension instead of .png
Any idea what caused the 'renaming'/'corruption'?

Hi Roy, can you tell me if you've checked the "Restore by using server utiities" option when restoring? If not, try and do that and see if it helps! Ovidiu

Hello all !
There is clearly a bug into the restore process. I have the same error and when I tried to launch Joomla, I have a blank page.
When I look at the source code, it seems completly f*** up <head> section is almost empty, page isn't finished, …
I have that issue on different OS : Win7x64 and Fedora14x64.
If I use winRAR to untar or if I choose the "Server utilities", everything works fine.
I just wanted to let you know

I made a major mistake updating 1.6.4 joomla directly with 1.7.3. I desided to use my backup made with XCLoner I had made at the 23rd of november. After restoring the site I got a blank page on both sites, front and back. It is a strange feeling I have at the moment … any idea/help would be very welcome!

HI Haris, i would advise doing the restore on a clean directory, so no previous files there except the restore script and backup archive.

Hi Ovidiu,
I finally desided to do exactly that, to make a new directory and a new database and send the restore there.
Then I deleted the original location and database and restored from the new location back to the "old" place by giving the directory and database the original name. It worked with now problem at all. Thank you very much for relpying very fast.

Tried with "restore by using server utilities".. but then only one empty file called configuration.php is restored...
