I am not quite clear on how you restore back to the same site. I made a backup, cloned it to the public_html and then tried restoring it, but all I get are server errors. The instructions say to set the folder to 777, but my host doesn't allow that (the site only works with 755). Sorry, I am new to Joomla. It just seems to have too many permission quirks.

Hi there! 755 permissions should be fine, we only indicated the 777 permissions for writing permissions but in your case 755 are also enough to become writeable!

To make a restore to the same location i would advise cloning to a subdirectory!

Regards! Ovidiu
